Ayesa Digital drives new technological solutions to improve interoperability and data traceability in industry
Participation in the BUHO project, funded by CDTI, with a budget of nearly €5 million.
Ayesa Digital is participating in the BUHO project (Interoperable, Traceable and Secure Platform for the Dynamic Synchronization of the Industrial Supply Chain), a strategic initiative aimed at developing solutions based on data spaces to enhance interoperability, traceability and optimization of industrial supply chains.
The initiative arises in a context in which interconnection and secure data sharing have become key factors in strengthening the competitiveness, efficiency and sustainability of the industrial ecosystem. Data spaces represent one of the fundamental pillars of the European Data Strategy, as they facilitate information exchange within industrial ecosystems while ensuring data sovereignty, regulatory compliance and trust among participants.
In the industrial domain, this approach is particularly relevant for overcoming structural challenges such as system fragmentation, lack of interoperability and limited traceability among the different stakeholders in the supply chain—an issue that particularly affects highly fragmented industrial environments.
BUHO will address the complete lifecycle of data throughout its value chain. The project builds on the information already generated by existing digitalization technologies within companies and works on structuring it to enable secure sharing within federated ecosystems, aligned with European standards such as IDSA and GAIA-X.
This data will be integrated into traceability platforms and digital passport solutions, providing context and significantly increasing its value in areas such as sustainability, quality and regulatory compliance.
Validation in strategic sectors
As a distinguishing feature, BUHO will incorporate advanced logistics system optimization services based on artificial intelligence for the interconnected industry. The technologies developed will be validated in two strategic supply chains: the aeronautics and construction industries, with the aim of demonstrating their applicability to other industrial sectors.
Within the consortium, Ayesa Digital plays a key role in the development of advanced tools to optimize industrial value chains. Its contribution focuses on the design of decentralized, federated, interoperable and secure industrial data exchange mechanisms, as well as the intelligent exploitation of such data to enable distributed, flexible and sustainable value chains.
In this framework, the company is researching solutions based on artificial intelligence, data spaces and digital passports, aimed at anticipating incidents, orchestrating distributed production and optimizing it under multi-objective criteria—such as cost, lead time or carbon footprint—while relying on interoperability standards such as Asset Administration Shell (AAS) and industrial ontologies.
Through this initiative, Ayesa Digital strengthens its position as a key player in the digital transformation of industry, promoting the adoption of advanced technologies.
BUHO is funded by CDTI under the ‘Science and Innovation Missions Programme’, within the ‘Transfer and Collaboration Programme’ of the ‘Spanish State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2024–2027’, under the mission ‘An interconnected and secure industry’. The project has a budget of €4.95 million, a duration of 48 months and started in January 2026.
In addition to Ayesa Digital, other companies participating in the project include IDS — the consortium leader — Aerotecnic, Celsa, Hi-Iberia and Quobis, together with the technology centres Tekniker and Aimen and the Ibermática Innovation Institute (i3B).
